This past week, Jayd and Mindy headed up to Reno, Nevada. We went there for the Boys Junior National Volleyball Championships. Jayd was playing in the tournament with his team, Spectrum. There were four days of playing. Our pools played in the afternoon, so we had some time in the morning to hang out and enjoy some the area. We went to the temple one day and did temple baptisms. We went to the riverwalk and played in the Truckee River. It was very hot in Reno, so many of the locals were there playing in the water as well. Then we spent our afternoons and evenings in the air conditioned convention center as time was determined by which game you were playing.

Jayd's team did very well. They had one day where they struggled, losing two hard fought matches. The other days they won all of their games. Jayd played as an outside hitter. He traded games with another player. He had a few very good games, and a few where he struggled. On the last day, there were some playoff games. The team won the first two games in their pool, then lost the championship match. It was a good experience for us. We enjoyed getting away and spending some time together. I loved watching Jayd and the rest of the team play, and Jayd loved playing!
